The Skywalker saga came to a close with Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker, which, according to some, was one of the weaker installments in the series. As a matter of fact, fans are more divided after than sequel trilogy than they were after the prequels. According to Natalie Portman, the actress who plays Padme Amidala, responded to the underwhelming response of the movies by saying “It was a bummer”.
After Return of the Jedi in 1983, it seemed like the Star Wars series would just be a trilogy, so when it was announced that there would be new installments, fans were understandably excited. Much to their disappointment, however, as the prequels weren’t nearly as entertaining as the original trilogy. Portman said that she was disappointed because fans, who were so excited for the new movies, were let down.
She said, “When something has that much anticipation, it can almost only disappoint”. She also noted that a lot of people have revisited the films and now, they love them. In fact, some even say they’re the best, according to Portman. We’d wager a guess not many still do but whatever the actual count might be, this is one of those things that are bound to be filed under the “you don’t say” category.
A note: As a kid I spent most of my hospital days with comics, and I continued reading them as I grew older (this is why I also opened up the tag what to read). Hopefully I’ll cover more of both MCU News and DC Comics News in the upcoming months, until then be sure to check out the tech news section.
